Hard Hat Heroes is a veteran-focused initiative aimed at recruiting military vets into the construction industry. The initiative also offers a credentialing portal in which veterans can use training they received in the military to get free NCCER credentials, making them more marketable towards employers and showing that they already have the skills they otherwise would have had to train for in the construction industry. NCCER also co-sponsors an annual event called Operation: Build America, which aims to connect the construction industry with military veterans.
